Every order goes through a documented multi-stage quality control process that covers incoming inspection, external visual inspection, X-ray and XRF analysis, and electrical testing. When additional scrutiny is warranted, ASC's Shenzhen testing lab can perform decapsulation and die analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) to verify that the die matches the manufacturer's known good reference. ASC also maintains a parts history database built since 1997, which gives engineers a baseline for comparing incoming lots against documented originals. For programs that require it, ASC's third-party laboratory partners are accredited to IDEA-ICE-3000, MIL-STD-750, and MIL-STD-883, and can produce test reports to those standards.

ASC operates as both a franchised distributor and an independent global sourcing partner. What does that mean for a procurement team?

The distinction matters for traceability and pricing structure. For parts covered by ASC's authorized lines, which include manufacturers such as Diotec Semiconductor, OptiFuse, and Western Digital, ASC sells as a franchised distributor. That means direct manufacturer traceability, access to volume pricing arrangements, and support for yearly contracts. Our supplier is quoting us 20-plus weeks on a semiconductor we need now. Can ASC source it faster?

Extended lead times from franchised channels are one of the most common reasons customers come to ASC. Because ASC operates sourcing offices across nine locations, including the US, UK, Poland, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Mexico, Hong Kong, and Shenzhen simultaneously, the team has concurrent visibility into inventory across multiple regional markets rather than a single distributor's stock position. When a component hits end-of-life, ASC's team cross-references alternatives based on package type, pinout, electrical specifications, and temperature ratings to identify options that do not require PCB rework. Does ASC carry semiconductors qualified for aerospace, defense, or medical applications?
